- If dialup is your only option, I highly recommend AT&T Business Internet Services. They have local dialup numbers for most cities, their service is reliable, and best of all works well with UNIX.
- BudgetDialup is also a really good service. They have both a monthly plan and several rollover plans, similar to how phone cards work. This is really great if you only use dialup as a backup or when traveling.

It would appear that the publishing company that produces this magazine and others (C/C++ Users Journal, Dr. Dobbs Journal, Software Development, etc...) does sell your email address to the lowest life spammers on the planet. If you decide to purchase the magazine subscription, don't give them your real email address.
